Jamie Foxx Thanks Fans as He Breaks His Silence 3 Weeks After Hospitalization: ‘Feeling Blessed’

Jamie Foxx, the 55-year-old Oscar winner, took to Instagram on Wednesday to express his gratitude for all the love and support he received from his fans. Three weeks earlier, his family had revealed that he was hospitalized due to a medical complication.

Foxx shared a message on Instagram saying, “Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling blessed.” He also gave a shoutout to Nick Cannon for filling in as host for the upcoming season of Beat Shazam, writing on his Instagram Story, “Appreciate ya my boy @nickcannon. See u all soon.” Foxx’s daughter Corinne shared his post on her Instagram Story and thanked everyone for their love.

On April 12, Corinne shared a statement on Instagram announcing that her father had “experienced a medical complication” the previous day while filming the Netflix movie Back in Action in Atlanta. The film also stars Cameron Diaz and Glenn Close and is directed by Foxx’s Horrible Bosses director Seth Gordon.

The statement further added that Foxx was on his way to recovery due to the quick action and excellent care he received. The Foxx family expressed their gratitude for all the prayers and good wishes they received from fans.

Later on, a source close to the actor confirmed to PEOPLE on April 21 that Foxx’s health was continuing to improve. The source revealed, “He’s okay, thank God. He’s still in the hospital, and doctors are running tests, but he’s awake and alert. They’re keeping him under observation.” Multiple sources reported that Foxx was getting better every day while he was recovering in a Georgia medical facility.
