Recipe Notes:

  • If you have any leftover taco meat, store it in your fridge and use the leftovers for the next few days to make a couple of soft tacos for lunch or as an easy weeknight dinner.
  • For frozen pre-baked tarts: Brush your tarts with beaten egg after thawing, then bake in the oven.
  • Have leftover chicken or turkey? You can substitute ground beef for leftover poultry. If you do, consider adding some cream cheese to the taco mix to keep it from drying out.
  • This recipe can easily be doubled if you plan to make a batch ahead of time and store in the freezer.

How should I store my leftover hand cakes?

Once baked and then completely cooled, these hand pies can be stored at room temperature or in the fridge in an airtight container for 3 to 4 days.
